HOLGAROID

As if the holga camera wasn't unpredictable enough, I decided to attach a polaroid back to mine. My first 10 exposures were iffy, first not enough light for the ISO 60, then too much when i tried to take pictures of my friend on a super sunny day at the beach. Here's what i've managed to produce so far... and hey, I have 60 more polaroids to mess around with too. Hopefully more successful holgaroids to come, maybe some transfers too!! Yay alternative photo!

It's been a while

It's been about 3 months since my last post on this thing and summer is coming to an end. Funds have been low and I've been sitting on film of summer time for quite a while. I had the pleasure of visiting Richmond, Va in July with some best friends of mine. The city reminded me a lot Saint Augustine, full of charm and southern goodness, minus the blackberries. I was really pleased to look over this roll of film and hope to return to Richmond again, some time...

Old roll

So I haven't had much to blog about lately, but I found this roll of film today and decided to scan it. It's from about a month or so ago.... the pictures are of a weekend getaway we took down to melbourne beach, FL. We stayed at Bryan's uncle's amazing house on the st. johns river. While we were down there we stopped by the cocoa beach pier during the peak of spring break and saw a guy with pigeons all over him and some European tourists who wear socks with their sandals. On the end of the roll there were a few photos of our easter breakfast at home, where I forced Bryan to color easter eggs with me and eat strawberry banana pancakes. Hooray for random rolls of film!

Lets do this

hey hey. So i'm trying to get a group of people together who would be interested in renting a warehouse space downtown. The space could be used for the following: art studio space, gallery space, musical practice/performing space, bike building space, storage space, hang out space, etc.... I really want a place to have shows (art, music, etc) all the time, and not just once a month like the art walk. If we get enough people together, the fraction of the rent that we would all have to pay would be minimal, and we can generate money via small covers for shows and stuff. Please please please contact me if you or anyone you know is interested. Let's make this happen! YEA!

shit

I got my rejection letter in the mail today from CCA and it sucks.
Only one more to go, SFAI, and i'm losing hope by the second.
Why god, why don't you want me to move to san francisco?
Oh wait, I think I know the answer to that....

times passed

Here are some photos of one of the last nights of hanging out at kelly and breanne's place. kelly is in oregon now, and breanne is in tampa, FL. These photos don't even begin to describe how awesome these two ladies are, but hopefully document the end of an old chapter of our lives and our friendship that started in st. augustine. Oh yea, and there's a picture of Steve P and some girl licking his ear..... enjoy the grainy memories burnt onto this film.

Bryan's 26th birthday

March 2, 2009. Dave & Buster's (adult arcade).  Much fun was had by all.

Greetings from florida!

Here we are, on a very cold and windy day at Matanzas inlet. We like to bring Pancho here because he can run wild without harassing any beach goers. It was so cold on this day that we were the only ones on the beach. excellent.

This is Pancho, happier than a pig in shit that he's not on a leash.

oops

I need to correct and clarify my last post about my work being published in a surfing magazine. It turns out that the magazine is brand new and is called "MorSurf"- a modern surf magazine. I'm not sure if there is an affiliation with the other mag or where I got that idea from. Either way, I'm freakin ecstatic about it. Also, for my friends who are not involved in surf culture, your quiver is basically your board collection. I only know this because my boyfriend's longboard quiver is taking over our tiny apartment. ok- i think the air is clear now.

LongBoard Magazine!!!

Hey friends! Finally some "work" to show... If you call taking pictures of friends "work." Yes! So my good friend, Chad Doyle, is going to be featured in Longboard magazine in the near future.  And thanks to Chad, I'm taking his quiver shots for the feature. Here are some of my favorites, hopefully the photo editor agrees.... I'll keep you posted. peace out.

hella sick

For the past week, Bryan and I have been completely immobilized by a particularly crappy case of the flu. Here is a photo that begins to express how we felt:
For those of you who don't have cable, you are not missing anything.... and for those of you who buy recycled toilet paper like bryan and i do, we do not recommend it for constant nose blowing. ouch. We look forward to seeing everyone out in the real world this week. yay!
